I didn’t know where to ask these questions so I’m just posting them here. They are regarding manager career mode players potential, growth, injury.
1. If a player gets injured than does that mean his “potential growth” stops completely? Like will their stays won’t grow anymore? (I had Koscielny in my Arsenal manager career mode and he got injured for 3 months. When he came back his acceleration and sprint speed decreased -1. And now I’ve been playing with him for 3-4 months and yet his acceleration and sprint speed is still -1. Now I have an 18 year old and 24 year old player who are injured for 8 days and 4 weeks respectively. So, will they never reach their potential anymore? They will just stay as they are or barely some of the stats will grow but not till their told potential?
2. I heard something about “a players potential gets locked when you sign them”… What does it mean by potential getting locked when you sign that player? Does it mean like they won’t grow above their specific potential and growth rating? (Like ea posted a young players potentail list and futhead and futwiz’s website tells you players potentials and growth.)
3. If yes, than here is my next question. I bought David Alaba in the beginning of the season and played him in most of the matches until January, but only one or two his stats grew +1 and his Overall rating stayed the same; compared to other players whose many stats grew +1 and their overall as well. So here’s my question regarding this. Like David Alaba there were some other players who had an overall close to him and their growth was told to be +3, same as Alaba’s as told by the futhead and futwiz websites, but yet their overall and stats grew but not Alaba’s that much, WHY?
4. Also another question regarding my 2nd question in the list. I bought David Alaba, played with him till January, and than sold him in January transfer window. So my questions is: Like stated by the futhead website that Alaba will grow +3 to become 88 rated, will he grow till that even without being in my team? Or will he just stay the same like he was in my club and don’t grow and reach his potentail anymore?
5. This is also regarding the #2. Question about “locked potentail growth stuff” on the list. Take for example I want to buy an “unknown” player who is young and like it says on futhead and other websites that he will grow and his overall would increase as well. So, If I buy that ” unknown” player in the transfer window, play and increase his stats, than sell him in the next transfer window, and than buy him back in the next transfer window. Will he be able to grow again in my club or will he not grow anymore even though it says on the websites across the web about that players potential and growth will increase?
I know it’s all messy and probably confusing as well. But these are really important questions I wanted to ask. You people are most knowledgable about this stuff and I only trust your guys source. Any help would be appreciated in answering ALL OF THESE questions that I asked above with a question mark at the end. Thank you.

1) He probably will not grow during the injury. However, as soon as he is back, he may grow or not.
2) I don’t think it is true.
3) The potential is merely indicative. That was a coincidence. To grow up, a player needs to play and to be happy.
4) He potentially will grow up even after moving to other club.
5) Yes, you will be able.

Does a player has to show a specific status to reach a potential rating? Like I have Pogba whose potential is to reach at least 93; as stated by websites. But his status shows “Has Something Special” which is just a flair trait. So, my question is will I have to loan him and try to get his status to change to “Has Potential to be Special” for him to get to 93? Or are different types of statuses shown on players just to show us an estimate of what kind of potential overall rating that player can achieve?

It depends of how many seasons you plan to play. Pick Neuer if you only play 3 or 4 seasons or pick De Gea if you plan to plan more.

I don’t think he is under 19, but Maximillian Meyer is a really good young player, at age 20 he is already 82 rated. And in my Barcelona career mode, he is almost at an 88 rating.
Meyer is a cheap player from FC Schalke if I remember correctly.

Most of your players are OK to play 6 more seasons. You should try to buy Gonçalo Guedes, Renato Sanches, Embolo and Tielemans.

So lately there’s been all these transfers in real life like Ibra to united and Higuain to Juventus and etc… so on my game I just manually transfered these players to their clubs since the games hasn’t updated the rosters. My question is, should I start a career mode with the original rosters or the updated ones? Because like if I did one with Juventus for example, they’re already stacked, plus all their transfer budget is still there so it wouldn’t be any fun you know…?
The database is updated much later than in Ultimate Team. If I was you, I would start a career mode with the original rosters.

Yes, you can use Alli in that position.
Gomes and De Bruyne are a better option but Tielemans and Bazoer should be used in less important matches to give them the chance to grow up.
