FIFA 21 Difficulty Levels

There are six degrees of difficulty when playing against AI in a FIFA 21 game. The difficulty level of a match versus AI is available in all FIFA 21 game modes and is usually adjustable – In some modes there is a minimum or a specific difficulty level choice.

The FIFA 21 difficulty levels are the following ones:

⚫⚫⚫⚫⚪⚪ Professional

⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫⚫ Ultimate (Available only in FUT)

A match difficulty level is set before going to a game from the GAME SETTINGS tab and it cannot be changed throughout a game. In FUT 21, the level is calculated for the match coins awards.

The level of difficulty is adjustable from the GAME SETTINGS tab before going to a match. It is available under MATCH > Difficulty Level option. It is also available in CUSTOM > GAME SETTINGS menu as for general setting and anywhere the CUSTOM tab is available.

Here is how the levels affects the gameplay of AI during a Single Player match which includes the performance percentage for AI’s intelligence, reaction speed and marking & space.

In FIFA 21, EA added a new setting called Competitor Mode, designed to refresh the CPU AI in Career Mode and FUT Squad Battles. When selecting Legendary or Ultimate difficulties, there will now be an option to enable this mode for those who seek a new challenge. This will be available to use in any mode where you are playing against the CPU AI and where Legendary or Ultimate difficulty is available as an option. This is a brand new way to play against the CPU AI that aims to replicate the play styles of some of the best FIFA Pro Players in the world. Competitor Mode gives the CPU AI a better understanding of skill moves, dribbling, spacing, tactics, and it will constantly look to create better scoring opportunities. You can expect aggressive passes, complex skill moves, and even a change of tactics and mentality if you are leading against them, for example.
