FIFA 23 on Xbox Cloud Gaming

With Xbox Cloud Gaming, Game Pass Ultimate players can stream games over the internet, eliminating the need to download or install them on their Xbox console. It allows you to play hundreds of console games on the devices you already have. Play supported free-to-play games like Fortnite with a free Microsoft account, or hundreds of games with a Game Pass Ultimate membership.

To play Xbox console games from the cloud on your device you’ll need the following:

  1. An active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership and supported game in a supported region. To play select free-to-play games with cloud gaming, all you need is a free Microsoft account in a supported region.
  2. A supported device including Windows PC, Apple or Android phones and tablets, Xbox console, or select Samsung 2021 and 2022 smart TV.
  3. A compatible controller connected via Bluetooth or USB. Select games can be played with Xbox touch controls.
  4. A Wi-Fi / LTE data connection with minimum of 10Mbps down-speed. Please note, some devices may require 20Mbps for the best quality. We recommend using a 5Ghz Wi-Fi connection.
  5. If playing on Xbox.com, a supported browser such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Safari.

Both the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions of FIFA 23 are available on Xbox Cloud Gaming. When choosing which version to play, please pay attention to the full title and box art. In-game progression functions the same as their retail and downloadable counterparts. For example, Career Mode progress on Xbox One will not carry over to the Xbox Series X|S version, and vice versa. If you have FIFA 23 installed and access to the Xbox Cloud Gaming versions, you’ll see a cloud icon on the platform UI when selecting the cloud version to play.

Matchmaking in this version of FIFA 23 follows the same factors as other game versions, mainly your game’s location and your corresponding-mode skill indicator. However, it’s important to note that on Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), your game’s location is not the same as your physical location as the game is streamed from Microsoft’s data centers. FIFA 23 features cross-play, but note that as mentioned above, matchmaking factors in the location of the Xbox Cloud Gaming data center you connect to.

As FIFA 23 on Xbox Cloud Gaming is a streaming service, local multiplayer against other players is not supported, allowing only one person and controller to play at a time. Additionally, local cooperative play is not available. However, you can still access and enjoy all traditional offline modes like Kick Off, but these experiences are exclusively against the CPU AI in this version of the game.

Connection Monitoring options are present in FIFA 23 on Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), but the displayed information does not reflect your connection’s experience as it would in the retail/downloadable version of the game. This is due to the streaming nature of Xbox Cloud Gaming, where you connect to Microsoft’s data centers to play the game. Matches in this version are tracked on the Connection Quality Report, but the information may not accurately reflect player experience during matches due to the streaming nature of the game.

To gain access to the FUT Transfer Market, new players may need to complete specific Objective Groups. If you are unable to enter the FUT Transfer Market, simply follow the on-screen menu tile and pop-up messages to identify the Objectives that must be completed first. The FUT Transfer Market in FIFA 23 on Xbox Cloud Gaming is the same cross-platform one present in all console versions of the game.

FIFA 23 is delivered through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), similar to streaming a video on your phone. The game’s performance is primarily dependent on your Connection Quality with Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta). If you encounter any connection issues or instability, it may affect your streaming experience of FIFA 23.
